James Delton Nowlin, 57, of Point Pleasant died Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Emergency Room. 

He was born December 22, 1952, in Mason County, a son to the late Robert Lee Nowlin and his mother Evelyn McKinney Nowlin of Point Pleasant. He was a retired millwright for Alcan of Ravenswood and a member of the Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood, and the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother George Melvin Nowlin.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Nowlin of Point Pleasant; sisters and brothers-in-law Juanita and Dolas McComas of Apple Grove, Rosita and Butch Bauer of Point Pleasant, Carol and Doug Bryant of Gallipolis Ferry; brothers and sisters-in-law Dale and Brenda Nowlin of Point Pleasant, David and Linda Nowlin of Point Pleasant, and Joe Nowlin of Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church, Pliny, WV, with the Rev. Merle Wood officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, at the Deal Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
