A Millwood woman died Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash on Route 2 near the intersection with the entrance road to Alcan.

Denea Glenn Kerns, 38, of Millwood, was the driver a 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo which went out of control at around 10:11 p.m., ran off the road and careened back into the northbound lane sideways where it was struck in the passenger’s side by a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Douglas M. Ward, 45, of Woodsfield, OH.

Kerns was killed in the collision and Ward was injured and transported to Jackson General Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Lt. Chris Metz and Deputy Ross Mellinger of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
