A North Carolina man was arrested in Ravenswood last Thursday after a routine traffic stop allegedly uncovered a large quantity of prescription drugs in his possession.

One of the individuals indicted last summer on meth-related charges had her bond rescinded this week following her arrest Tuesday on DUI charges in Ripley.

The February session of the Jackson County Grand Jury will convene this morning at the county courthouse to decide whether or not to issue indictments against several individuals charged recently in county courts.

The Office of the State Medical Examiner was unable to determine an exact cause in the July death of a man whose body was pulled from Sandy Creek near Ravenswood.
