Ravenswood’s Red Devils took advantage of Shady Spring pitching woes and some timely hitting to roll to a 12-2 five-inning win at Wright Field April 5.

 Senior Blake Bennett delivered  the big blow for at the plate for Ravenswood, blasting a two-run homer over the left center field fence. Jake Greene (two RBIs), Chase Swain (2 RBs) and Stephen Dawson (three RBIs) each added a double; and Lakin Tucker (RBI), Ethan Mahan  and Andrew Anglin (two RBIs), one single each in the Devils’ eight-hit attack.

 Swain got the pitching win, fanning five, walking two and allowing just one hit over five innings of work not the mound. Shady Spring jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two unearned tallies early, before the Devils parlayed bases-on-balls and timely hitting to explode for 12 unanswered runs.

 Ciah Kennedy was hit by pitches on three at-bats.

  The Red Devils dropped a 12-8 decision on the road at Pt. Pleasant April 4.

  Senior Ethan Mahan took the pitching loss in relief of starter Lakin Tucker. Tucker went 2/3 inning, fanning one, and allowing four hits and four runs (three earned). Mahan tossed 3 2/3 innings, fanning four, walking two and allowing six hits and six runs (four earned). Kenley Hickman threw 1 2/3 innings, fanning one, walking none and allowing four hits and two runs.

  At the plate, Ciah Kennedy went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Blake Bennett went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and three runs scored. Lakin Tucker went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored; and Stephen Dawson, 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored.
