And while maybe Saturday night's basketball game wasn't a thing of beauty, it was in fact beautiful to see the two back out on the court together.

  And while maybe Saturday night’s basketball game wasn’t a thing of beauty, it was in fact beautiful to see the two back out on the court together.

Last season, there was no game at all in what is one of the top rivalries in the state.

  On this night, Ravenswood took control early on and ever looked back in downing the Vikings by a final of 54-25.

 Ravenswood finished out the regular season of 2017-18 with a record of 21-1.   The Vikings closed with a 2-20 mark.

 In the opening quarter, Ravenswood surged to a 13-3 against the Vikings. At halftime it was a 23-8 score.

 Ravenswood outscored the Vikings in the third (19-7) and the fourth (12-10).

 Isaiah Morgan finished the game as the leading scorer with 21 points. The Devil senior added eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block to his evening’s work.

  Jayden Rhodes also scored in double figures for the Red Devils with 11. He also pulled down one rebound, three assists and a steal.

 Blake Bennett finished with five points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals.

 Lakin Tucker contributed four points, five rebounds and two assists.

 Chase Swain scored two, pulled down a rebound, handed out an assist and came away with three steals.

  Ravenswood was 21-of-51 from the field. The Devils made 15-of-28 shots from 2-point range and were 6-of-23 from the 3-point arc. At the line, Mick Price’s crew connected on 6-of-8.

  Isaiah Riffe led Ripley of head coach Kevin Harris in scoring with eight points. He pulled down four rebounds dished out an assist and had a block.

 Tobias Scholl scored four points and collected four rebounds.

 Deontae Mosley scored three points, grabbed two rebounds and was credited with  an assist.

 Jaxon Harris and Isaac Robertson each scored three points.

 Ty Johnson scored two points, snagged nine rebounds while dishing out an assist, coming up with one steal and blocking one shot.

 Griffin Durst scored two points, had two assists and one steal.

   Ripley was 8-of-27 overall in the game from the floor. The Vikings made 5-of-17 field goals from 2-point range and were 3-of-10 from behind the arc.

 Ravenswood eked out a 56-54 win in the junior varsity game on Trey Mandrake’s game-winning, last-second three-point bomb.

 Devin Raines scored 18 to pace the offensive attack for Ravenswood, while Trey Mandrake and Nick Westenhaver both scored in double figures with 15 and 12, respectively.

 Zach Burgess scored four in the win while DeShone Cooper and Ben Queen each scored three. Patrick 

Francis rounded out the scoring with a free throw.

 Isaac Robertson was the leading scorer for Ripley with 14. Jesus Valdez was in double figures with 12 as was Isaac Blankenship with 10.

  Carter Casto finished with five and Jacob Fouty three.

  Both varsity teams head to postseason play later this week. 

 Ravenswood returns to action Tuesday in Class A sectional action hosting Calhoun County. 

 Ripley meets Parkersburg on the road in a Class AAA sectional on Wednesday.
