In a time of 9:58.0, Casto, a University of Charleston runner, captured the latest installment of Ripley’s Firecracker Two-Miler.

The race, which takes place on the streets of Ripley, is part of the city’s huge Fourth of July celebration.

Tori Starcher won the female division in a time of 11:21.5.

Starcher is coming off a sensational freshman season of track and field at Ripley High. She won three events (800, 1600 and 3200) and anchored a winning relay team (4x400) in helping lead Ripley to a second place finish in the Class AAA portion of the State Meet.

Chad Longanacre was second in the race to Casto with a time of 10:18.4.

Hilary Bright placed second behind Starcher in a time of 13:23.0.
