Ravenswood, W.Va. -

Tetrick’s Showcase Jewelers opened in Ravenswood 30 years ago. They are marking the occasion with a month-long celebration including special sales and events.

Having been in the jewelry business since he was 14-years-old, Allen Tetrick first opened a wholesale jewelry store in Ravenswood in 1972. Seven years later he purchased Short’s Jewelry Store from Lucille Short. With that, he became an independent jeweler and owner of Tetrick’s. He and his wife Connie still operate the store today.

LeaAnn Carmichael, employee, said Tetrick’s success stems from convenience and customer-service. She said they offer repairs and engraving locally; offer a nice, quality products at reasonable prices; and have long-term employees who know and take care of their customers. In addition, Tetrick’s buys gold jewelry and is the local place to buy Vera Bradley products.

To celebrate three decades of doing business in Jackson County, Tetrick’s will be offering its customers a month’s worth of special deals. Starting October 31 and running November 7, Zable Beads and Bracelets will be 30 percent off. In addition, customers who purchase two Zable beads will receive a $40 bead free.

On November 13 and 14, a jewelry manufacturer representative will be on hand with a special selection of jewelry. Items from his display will be available at 40 percent off.

Vera Bradley will also have a representative at Tetrick’s on November 18. On that day, many special bargains on the popular line will be offered. Customers who spend $50 on Vera Bradley will receive a free Zip ID of their choice. Those who spend $100 will receive a free Mini Zip Wallet. Those who spend $200 will receive a free Tote.

And for the entire month of November all items, excluding Vera Bradley, will be between 20 and 40 percent off. Carmichael said many other specials will be offered during the month as well.

As a way of giving back to the community, Tetrick’s will be contributing 5 percent of all sales for the month of November to Trooplink, a local organization that provides monthly care packages to military personnel serving overseas who have a Jackson County connection.

Tetrick’s Showcase Jewelers is located at 229 Walnut Street in Ravenswood.
