Mrs. Edna Faye Monk, 87, of Reedy, formerly of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2012.
She is retired from Kanawha County School Board, a homemaker and a member of Ripley Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Mr. Robert H. Monk; five sons, Gary W. and wife, Rita Monk of Florida, Charles and wife, Patty Monk, of Fairplain, Robert A. and wife, Wendy Monk, of Poca, Duane B. Monk of Scott Depot and Roger D. Monk of Sissonville; brother, Elwood Cecil of Charleston; six grandchildren, Scott, Cathy Jo, Jill, Adam, Matthew and Dalton; and four great-grandchildren, Ramsie, Wyatt, Katelyn and Holly.
A tribute to the life of Mrs. Edna Faye Monk will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens with Dr. Mervin Smith and the Rev. Jerry Dooley officiating. Burial will follow in the memory gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harding Funeral Home Chapel in Kanawha City.
