PARKERSBURG - The Ripley Vikings football team fell on the road Friday night to the Parkersburg South Patriots 35-27.

Ripley twice came within one score of tying the game in the fourth quarter, first off of a short run by senior running back Jake Martin and then on a big run by senior quarterback Trevor Tucker, but South managed to answer back with scores of their own to keep pace.

The Patriots ultimately ran out the clock and once again spoiled the Vikings' season opener.
