Earl James Reynolds, 88, of Ravenswood, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, following a series of strokes.
He served his country in WWII from February 1944 to May 1946 as a proud U.S. Marine while stationed in the Pacific Islands. After his military commitment Earl worked for American Viscose and Sears Roebuck in Parkersburg, then in 1957 started at Kaiser Aluminum for 32 years before retiring in 1989. He was an accomplished wood worker and an avid and knowledgeable coin collector. Earl was saved in 1960 while he and his family lived at Liverpool. He also belonged to the Kera and Parkersburg Coin Clubs.
Earl was preceded in death by his mother Darla and stepfather Charlie Masters; brother, William “Bill” Reynolds; sister, Norma Hively; 2 grandchildren, Selena Dawn Reynolds and Earl James Reynolds, III.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Oleta Pearl Simmons Reynolds and son Bruce of the home; daughter, Sandra Cochran and her husband Jerry of Huntington, WV; son, Duane Reynolds and his wife Sue of Petroleum, WV; son, Earl Reynolds Jr. and his wife Robin of Ravenswood, WV. Nine grandchildren, Sixteen great grandchildren, and many friends.
Friends may visit, Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6-7:30pm at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. Memorial service with military rites will start at 7:30pm at the funeral home.
