RIPLEY - It was a good way to begin the 2014 season for the Ripley Viking and Lady Viking tennis teams.
Victories were produced by both teams against Riverside at the City Park Courts.

The Lady Vikings whitewashed the Lady Warriors, 7-0, while the Vikings captured an easy win of 6-1.
On the ladies side of the net, Arin Shatto defeated Erin Hendricks in the No. 1 singles match, 8-4. Tyler Barrickman took the No. 2 match over Samantha Powers, 8-1. At No. 3, Brooke King down Brooke Rumbaugh, 8-1. Meagan Frampton won the No. 4 singles showdown with Ericka Howell, 8-6.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Shatto/Frampton defeated Hendricks/Powers, 8-3. King/Barrickman won the No. 2 match over Rumbaugh/Howell, 8-2. At No. 3, Mady Fisher/Caisie Adcock downed Breanna Johnson/Brooke Atkinson, 8-3.

In the boys match, No. 1 Viking Logan Reynolds topped Isaiah Ferrell, 8-2. No. 3 Derek Hill won over Zack Ellis, 8-3. At No. 4, Jamison Hunt defeated Reese Liptock, 8-3.
In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Reynolds/Baylee VanKirk defeated Ellis/Liptock, 8-3. Hill/Hunt won at No. 2 over Ferrell/Logan Harless, 8-3. At No. 3, Chance Ranson/JJ Mahan defeated Cameron Stamper/Trenton Tawney, 8-2.
