  • RIPLEY - The Jackson County Board of Education met last Thursday for their regular session. Ripley High basketball coach Craig Harmon’s retirement was made official via the board’s approval.
“I congratulate Coach Harmon on his retirement from Jackson County Schools after 41 years of service. I extend my best wishes to him for improved health, and a strong and enjoyable retirement. In the near future, the search for the next Head Basketball Coach at Ripley High School will begin. I am looking forward to a bright future for the Viking Basketball Program,” said Superintendent Blaine Hess after the meeting.
In relation to the new Kenna Elementary School, a change order in the amount of $6,851.00 was approved for the installation of a canopy sprinkler system by Brewer & Company. Board member Dr. Thomas Layne held a strong position on the matter.
