Delbert Theodore Casto, 85, of Ripley, WV, passed away March 7, 2014, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.

He was born March 15, 1928 in Belgrove, WV, a son of the late Artist Lee and Martha Matilda (Fields) Casto. His brothers, Oda Lee and Clida Ray, sisters, Orley Marie Donohew, and Mae Casto, and granddaughters, Jessica Casto and Cassandra Miller also preceded him in death.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, and was retired from Century Aluminum.  He was a member of United Steelworkers Union, Local #5668, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and being a father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Arleigh (Hughes) Casto; sons and their wives, Robert and Sharrie Casto of Given, and Richard and Tonya Casto of Ripley; daughters and their husbands, Martha and Rick Wilson of Gay, and Marcella and Ray Miller of Leroy; brother, Dexter Casto of Leon; sisters, Lilly Smith of Barboursville, and Evalina Young of Ripley; grandchildren, Ryan Wilson, Crystal Wilson, Brittany Shamblin, William Casto and Rex Miller, and great grandchildren, Mercy Wilson, Riley Shamblin, Addie Shamblin and Xavier Casto.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV, with Pastor Arnold Conant officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Ripley, with military honors by American Legion Post #107. Visitation will be from noon until time service on Monday.
