  • JACKSON COUNTY, WV- The saints keep marching into Drift Run Church and praise and worship center has tripled in membership during the past few years. To handle the over-flow church members are starting to raise funds to expand the facility. With the constant cold weather chili is an excellent choice.
According to Pastor Dave Long, one of these fundraisers is a chili cook off that will take place Saturday, March 1 at the church.
Said Long, “We are having this event to raise money to expand the church. We have gone from about 35 members to upwards of 90-130 attendees on Sundays. So, we invite anyone who wants to enter people to come to the cook off. There will be different kinds of chili and those will be judge by independent judges. We are also having an auction and for this auction people in the community from the Ripley, Ravenswood and Parkersburg areas have graciously donated items. The proceeds will go toward our building fund.”
The Drift Run Chili Cook-off will start at 4 PM.
