  • Thomas Wayne Waybright, 65, of Cottageville, WV, passed away February 8, 2014, in CAMC, General Division, while surrounded by his family.
    He was born May 3, 1948, in Gay, WV, a son of the late William Wayne and Virginia Lois (Stewart) Waybright. His son, Nathan John Waybright, also preceded him in death.
    He was a graduate of Ripley High School, and a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device for heroism. He was a retired maintenance foreman from Cedar Lakes Conference Center, Ripley, a member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the VFW, and he enjoyed fishing and farming. He was a Baptist by faith.
    Survivors include his wife, Brenda Joyce (Finch) Waybright; son, Tommy Wayne, and his wife, Monica Joy Waybright of Pt. Pleasant; daughter, Sarah Margaret Waybright of Gay; grandchildren, Forrest Brooks Waybright, Sylvia Vaughn Waybright, Mason James Hill, and Cooper Nicole Hill; brothers, Gary Waybright of Hermiston, OR, and Jeff Waybright of Gay; sister, Debbie Waybright Fisher of Ripley, and several nieces and nephews.
    Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV, with Dr. Ben Guido officiating. Burial will follow in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, with military honors by American Legion Post #107, Ripley. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
