Ray Lee Hofmann, 81, of Belleville, WV, passed away December 25, 2013 at Ravenswood Village, Ravenswood, WV.

He was born September 9, 1932 in Wadesville, WV, a son of the late Charles Christopher and Ethel Madge Davis Hofmann.  He was a 1952 Graduate of Parkersburg High School and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the 508th Military Police Battalion.  He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge #3.

Ray entered the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #968 upon graduation from high school and continued to be a member for sixty years.  He worked as an estimator and superintendent for Blair Electrical and Pickering Electric.  Upon his retirement in 1992, Ray remained and active farmer and gardener.  He enjoyed raising Herford cattle and working on projects in his garage.

Ray is survived by his wife of fifty eight years Ellen Nadine Bennett Hofmann, daughters Debra (Mark) Buckley of Belleville, Darla Lough of Belleville, Diana (Scott) Adams of Mills River, NC, four granddaughters Lindsay Buckley Sims (Ben), Meredith Buckley McNeill. Sarah Lough Criss (Kyle), Emma Adams and grandson Ian Adams, three great grandsons Mason and Logan Sims and Eli McNeill, brothers Donald Hofmann, sisters Virginia Monroe and Doris Summerville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Hofmann, Carmen Hofmann, John Harold Hofmann and carl Hofmann and his sisters Edith Phillips and Garnet Price.

Ray was a loving and devoted family man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Ray's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Ravenswood Village for their excellent care and love given to ray and his family.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Bob Watkins officiating.  Burial will be at the Pleasant Home Cemetery, Belleville, WV.   Visitation will be from 5 - 8 on Friday and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
