Wilmer Junior "Chiefy" Sayre, 85, of Charleston, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Hospital. He was a retired accountant for Union Carbide and a member of Charleston Masonic Lodge No. 153, 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite Bodies, Beni Kedem Shrine Temple, Legion of Honor, Flying Fezz, Jester's Court III, Charleston Moose Lodge 1444 and BPOE Charleston Lodge No. 202. He was a Korean War Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Miller Sayre; parents, Wilmer and Dorcas Hill Sayre; sisters, Elizabeth Sayre King and Evelyn Sayre Hunt; and brother, Paige Sayre.

Surviving are his nieces, Tami Newton, Tara Williams, Kelli Gerasimovich, Kimberly McCrate, Sharon Wolfe, Robin Mitchell, Belinda Miller, Leila Elswick and her husband, Rick, and Vickie King McLaughlin; nephews, John Sayre and his companion, Tammy Barker, Wayne Sayre and his wife, Jeanne, Max Sayre and his wife, Shirley, and Scott Chenoweth; sisters-in-law, Faye Brown and Jo Chenoweth; brother-in-law, Glen Miller; and longtime friend, Sam Burns.

Service were 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Mortuary, 335 Fifth Ave., South Charleston, with Pastor Jesse Waggoner officiating. Burial was be in Otterbein Cemetery, Evans.
