CHARLESTON - The West Virginia District AAU Cross Country Championships were held at Coonskin Park in Charleston on November 16 and three Ripley area runners brought honors back to Jackson County and in turn, qualified for National AAU Championship competition.
Tori Starcher took first place in 3000-meter competition and Remy Boyce notched a 4000-meter championship while Levi Phillips brought home fifth place in the 5000-meter. All three runners qualified for the AAU National Championship meet in Fort Gordan Georgia on December 7.
The teens will also participate in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in Charlotte North Carolina to be held on November 30.
If the trio can qualify (individually) in Charlotte, they advance to the Foot Locker Nationals that are held in San Diego California on December 14.
