  • EASTWOOD - For a team that almost didn’t have a season, Ravenswood’s Lady Red Devils finished strong, winning four of their final five regular season games before falling to eventual state champion Sissonville in the sectional semifinals.
    Coach Debbie Scritchfield’s gals started the year by canceling their first two games and lost three of the first four. But they rallied, finally got healthy and continued to improve week by week.  
    Ravenswood landed seven players on the All-LKC team and four on the All-State list.

    • Bess McNabb - Senior, Forward, 33 goals, 8 assists, averaged 1.8 goals per game, 1st Team All-LKC, 1st Team All-State
    • Georgie Fitzwater - Senior, Defender, 2 goals, 2 assists, volunteered to move from forward/midfield positions to defense to help the team, 1st Team All-LKC, Honorable Mention All-State
    • Kayla Scritchfield - Junior, Midfielder, 4 goals, 12 assists, 1st Team All-LKC, Honorable Mention All-State
    • Kendra Vaughn - Junior, Defender, 2 goals, 1 assist, played goalkeeper to start season, 1st Team All-LKC, Honorable Mention All-State
    • Chesney Hudson - Freshman, Forward, 10 goals, 13 assists, 1st Team All-LKC
    • Claudia Cubides - Freshman, Midfielder, 4 goals, 4 assists, Honorable Mention All-LKC
    • Haylie Reynolds - Freshman, Midfielder, 3 goals, 6 assists, Honorable Mention All-LKC Seniors Bess McNabb and Georgie Fitzwater will also be playing in the North South All Star game next Sunday at Washington High School in Charles Town, WV.
