RIPLEY - The All Mountain State Athletic Conference team the West Virginia Class AAA All State soccer squads were named last week. Five of Coach Tim Ross’ Ripley High School boys received honors from the MSAC while four players earned state recognition for their stellar play in the 2013 season.

Ripley’s senior forward Jo Jo Greely-Fay was named first team All MSAC and first team All State.  Senior midfielder Parker Lively and junior defender Noah Ross notched second team conference selections and honorable mention All State. Senior defender Josh Smith was given Special Honorable Mention in the MSAC and Viking senior goalkeeper Caleb Jennings received Honorable Mention status in the conference and the state.

The Class AAA Player of the year is Garrett Phillips of George Washington and the coach of the year is Reid Strobl of Parkersburg.

In the MSAC for the girls of Coach Missy Ross, junior defender Holly Farkosh netted second team honors, Senior forward Molli Cunningham and junior midfielder Callan Banks notched Special Honorable Mention recognition. Junior Arin Shatto earned Honorable Mention status.

For the Class AAA All State Team, Farkosh and Banks netted Honorable Mention recognition.
The Class ΑΑΑ Player of the year is Jayne Lawman of Winfield and the Coach of the year is Marshall Hoff, also from Winfield.
