ONA – Ripley had great representation at the 2013 West Virginia State High School Cross Country Meet on Saturday on Cabell Midland High School’s Chris Parsons Course as both the Vikings and Lady Vikings qualifed for the Class AAA competition.

The Viking boys team placed 10th with 266 points. University was first with 64 while the host school, Cabell Midland, earned Class AAA’s runner-up trophy with 77.

Junior Antonio Jones had the top finish on the day for the Vikings at 39th in a time of 17:27. 52. Freshman Remy Boyce was 42nd (17:34.50), sophomore Levi Phillips placed 55th (17:55.54), freshman Dalton Fisher finished 72nd (18:28.43), sophomore Nate Miller was 85th (19:03.80), sophomore Skye Stover finished 91st (19:17.42) and Tucker Miller placed 92nd (19:19.60).

Ripley’s Lady Vikings were 12th overall with 299 points. Morgantown won the state championship with 40 while Hurricane was the runner-up with 86.

Senior Haley Ford was 48th (21:43.48) overall to lead the way for Ripley. Senior Molli Cunningham was 61st (22:45.48) with junior Kyndra Hill not far behind, finishing 63rd (23:06.88). Sapphire Parsons, a junior, was 73rd (23:39.38). Also competing for Ripley were senior Amy Ferrell, who was 82nd (24:58.95), freshman Laurel Miller, who placed 83rd (25:01.96) and sophomore BrYana Stearns, who was 85th (25:25.90).
