JACKSON COUNTY - Both Ripley and Ravenswood fell to ranked football teams tonight as “The Hatchet” game looms next Friday for county bragging rights. The annual brawl will likely have playoff implications for the Red Devils.

 David Gray rushed for two touchdowns as Class A No. 2 Saint Marys (8-0) pitched a 12-0 shutout versus No. 15 Ravenswood (5-3) at Flinn Field.

 Ripley (2-7) played at class AAA No. 4 George Washington (8-1) and fell 34-14 despite a 161 yard rushing effort from Viking RB Jake Martin.
