Virginia Rose Shingleton Meadows Moore, 84, of Ravenswood, WV, was carried by the angels to be with her Savior, October 12, 2013, following an extended illness.

She was born August 26, 1929, in Meadowbrook, WV, a daughter of the late George and Elsie (Brown) Shingleton. Twelve brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Ginny was a servant to others; she was a former waitress, and enjoyed providing wedding cakes, cupcakes and many other baked goods at various functions. She was active with the Jackson County Democratic Women, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ravenswood.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Franklin H. “Junior” Moore; daughters, Carolyn (Lee) Randolph, and Lou Ann (Randy) Hinkle, all of Ravenswood, stepson, Larry (Linda) Moore of Shinnston, WV; stepdaughter, Diana (Danny) Benson of Lubeck, WV; brother, Joe Shingleton of Nitro, WV; sister, Sue Ann (Tommy) King of Boonsboro, MD; grandchildren, Susan (Dave) Eddy, Stacie (Daniel) Cooley, Matthew (Stacey) Randolph, Jessica (Adam) Snider, Travis Hinkle, Stefanie (Jason) Hyett, Patrick (Amy) Moore, and Shawn Moore, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Jeff Keffer, and Pastor Mark Gerstell officiating. Entombment will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Cottageville, WV. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
