JACKSON COUNTY - Ravenswood High hit the road on Friday for a football matchup with Braxton County (1-6). The Red Devils (4-2) were not challenged in the contest as they rolled on to victory, 53-16.
Devon Crews rushed for 149 yards and four touchdowns in the first half to lead Ravenswood to the road win for coach Mick Price.
Ripley High (1-6) started strong and was only down 14-13 to the Class AAA No. 14 Black Eagles (5-2) but were unable to hang close to the speedy Kanawha County squad and fell, 42-20.
For the Vikings, Jake Martin returned after a broken ankle suffered in the pre season. In his return to the gridiron, the junior rushed for 67 yards and caught five balls.
Ripley has a bye week next week and Ravenswood will travel to Class AAA No. 4 Point Pleasant.
