PITTSBURGH - Just as the theme of their show, "Upstream: A Koi Fable," suggests, Keyser High School's marching band has persevered throughout this season.
After practicing countless hours to perfect their show and enduring a severe thunderstorm just before the competition began, they delivered an exceptional performance on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Baldwin High School stadium in Pittsburgh.
Keyser came up with the best overall score of the bands competing that evening, earning them the title of Grand Champion.
Keyser High's band is led by head drum Major Kari Amtower and drum major Shania Isenberg, who earned an award for best drum major in their division. The band is complemented by an outstanding auxiliary who were also recognized as best in their division. Auxiliary members are led by Shannon McGuiness, Miranda Schenck, and Lily McAteer.
The band is under the direction of Suzanne Warrick, with drill design, instruction and musical arrangements by Christopher Warrick. Pictured: head drum major Kari Amtower gives the final salute signaling the completion of the performance.
