  • The most recent city council meeting was fraught with accusations of bullying, unnecessary training and unethical behavior.
During the public forum Twila Richards confronted council about the alleged bullying her husband, City maintenance employee, Densil Richards, was receiving at the hands of Maintenance Supervisor Gary Hunt.
Said, Mrs. Richards, "My thing is I brought this to council on September 3. There have been more grievances filed since that time and the harassment continues."
She continued, "It's not just Densil that is having problems. So I would say that with the majority of the men having problems, that there is a problem."
She stated that her husband has worked with the city for 25 years and
has a clean record and that the last three or four months has been "Hell for him".
Said Richards,” Its got worse and its to the point that he feels like he has to look over his shoulder every time he's doing any job."
According to Richards he was recently written up for allegedly cursing. However, it was claimed that Hunt was heard using F*** in front of employees.
She informed council that her husband has turned in six grievances and "all but two have mysteriously disappeared".
She also stated that there's something wrong with the system because nothing was done and the harassment is continuing.
"I'm asking council to take care of this, said Richards, "I feel these men should be treated with respect."
