Cathy Dell Parrish, 55, of Ravenswood, formerly of Ripley, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Hubbard Hospice House after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Parkersburg October 18, 1957, daughter of Orvalee Harrison Wines and the late William S. “Jack” Wines. Cathy was a 1975 graduate of Ripley High School and a lifelong Christian. She loved the outdoors with gardening, especially her flowers, bringing her special joy. Her main satisfaction in life was her family. Looking after her mother, children and grandchildren was her life.
Cathy also had a long career in the financial industry and at the time of her death was a loan officer for a local financial institution.
In addition to her father, Cathy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Cecil and Hazel Wines and her maternal grandparents, Russell and Pearlie Harrison.
Surviving: Mother, Orvalee Wines of Ripley; Husband, Robert Henry of Ravenswood; Son, Jesse E. Parrish (Shawna) of Ravenswood; Daughter, Amber L. Smith (Benjamin) of Sandyville; Grandchildren, Jordan, Haley and Payton Parrish and Zabian Smith.
A celebration of the life of Cathy Parrish will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Rev. Terry Deane and John Gunther officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Grasslick Baptist Church Cemetery, Kenna.
