  • Devilettes take two of three net matches

  • RAVENSWOOD – Coach Gary Braham’s Ravenswood Red Devilette spikers (10-7) won two of three volleyball matches last week, sweeping a tri-match at Parkersburg Catholic and dropping a home dual match versus Tyler Consolidated.
    At Parkersburg Catholic Tuesday, the Devilettes beat Doddridge County, 25-13, 25-18; and the host Crusaderettes, 25-17,  25-19.
    In the win over the Bulldogs, Katie Buckbee led the way with 11 points. Michaela Hughes added eight, Tia Querrey and Natalie Francis seven each, Lauren Hoff five, Jordan Strickland four and Bayli Manns three.
    Buckbee was the top server at 8/10 (one ace). Jordan Strickland and Tia Querrey served three aces each, and Michaela Hughes and Bayli Manns, one ace each.
    Hughes was the top passer at 17/18. Querrey was 33/37 in sets. Buckbee was the top spiker at 11/14 (five kills). Hughes had seven kills and Hoff three. Hoff had three blocks and Manns one.
    Alissa David paced Doddridge with eight points.
    In the win over the Crusadetettes, Hughes led the way with 14 points. Buckbee added 13, Manns seven, Querrey six, Hoff and Strickland three each and Francis one.
    Querrey was the top server at 13/13 (four aces). Hughes and Strickland served three aces each. Buckbee was the top passer at 24/31 and Querrey was 60/61 in sets.
    Hughes was the top spiker at 19/19 (nine kills). Buckbee also had nine kills and Hoff three.
    Manns had three blocks, Buckbee two and Francis and Hoff, one each.
    Abby Witucky paced the Crusaderettes with nine points.
    In Thursday’s loss to the Silver Knights, Hughes scored 11 points, Buckbee eight, Querrey four, Hoff three and Manns and Strickland one each.
    Hughes was the top server at 11/11 (two aces). Querrey was 47/48 in sets. Buckbee was the top passer (23/25) and spiker (14/16-seven kills) Hughes had five kills, Francis two and Hoff, Manns and Querrey, one each.
    Manns had 10 blocks and Hoff three.
    Sydney Reed paced Tyler with 12 points. Kerstyn Cline had 43 sets. Megan Carpenter had 16 spikes with seven kills.
