  • He was born on July 31, 1913, in Cottageville, WV, a son of the late Isaac Allen and Anna Bennett Sayre. His wife of 72 years, Ada Ruth Sayre, and siblings, Elizabeth Hawkins, Katharine Sayre, Pauline Barnette and twin Paul Sayre, Jeanette Winter, Geraldine Higginbotham, Warren Sayre, Donald Sayre, Bobby Sayre and twin Billy Sayre, and Lawrence Sayre, also preceded him in death.
 Frank was a 1933 graduate of Union High School, Cottageville, and was a retired sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Jackson County Historical Society, and a 60-plus year member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include his sister, Maxine Witt of Red House, and several nieces and nephews.
    Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, WV, with the Rev. John Mason officiating. Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, is assisting the family.
