  • Devilettes go 2-2 at Doddridge Invite nets

  • WEST UNION – Ravenswood’s Red Devilette spikers went 2-2 in pool play at the Doddridge County Volleyball Invitational Saturday.
    The Devilettes beat Liberty Harrison (28-30, 25-16, 15-9) and Nicholas County (25-14, 25-22), while falling to Philip Barbour (25-20, 21-25, 15-11) and rival Ritchie County (25-14, 25-21).
    Versus Liberty Harrison, Katie Buckbee led the way with 20 points. Michaela Hughes and Bayli Manns added eight each; Natalie Francis and Tia Querrey seven each; Lauren Hoff three; and Jordan Strickland two.
    Querrey served four aces and was 47/58 in sets. Strickland was 23/38 in passing. Buckbee had seven kills and three blocks.
    Shania Russell and Kaylee Ritter had 10 points each for Liberty.
    In the win over Nicholas, Buckbee again led the way with 17 points. Hughes added eight, Francis seven, Manns four, Querrey and Hoff three each and Strickland one.
    Buckbee and Francis served three aces. Querrey was 52/55 in sets. Buckbee had 10 kills and one block. Hughes had six kills. Manns and Francis added a block each.
    In the loss to Philip Barbour, Buckbee scored 16 points, Hughes 13, Manns six, Francis five, Querrey four, Hoff three and Strickland two.
    Hughes serves a pair of aces. Strickland was 33/42 in passing and Querrey 55/59 in sets. Buckbee had 10 kills. Manns had two blocks and Hoff one.
    Jezaray Casto scored 15 points to pace PB.
    In the loss to Ritchie County, Buckbee scored 10 points, Hughes, Francis and Hoff four each, Manns and Querrey three each and Strickland one.
    Querrey was 33.36 in sets. Buckbee and Hoff had three kills each. Hoff had two blocks and Francis and Manns one each.
    Becca Sullivan paced the Rebels with 15 points.
