RIPLEY - The Cpl. Walter L. Mann Detachment of the Marine Corps League is inviting all Marines, Navy Corpsmen and their families to join the detachment members in welcoming the only living, West Virginia Medal of Honor recipient, Hershel “Woody” Williams to Jackson County this (Thursday) evening at the American Legion Building (across from the Ripley Fire Station), beginning at 7 p.m.

If you are not in the Marine Corps or Navy, that’s okay. Stop by and help us welcome Woody to Jackson County.
Woody received his Medal of Honor for combat action on Iwo Jima during World War II. Bring your children and grandchildren to meet a living part of American history.

Refreshments (BBQ, hot dogs and soft drinks) will be provided by the Marine Corps League.
