  • MINERAL WELLS – It was gorgeous conditions on Saturday for the annual Chick-fil-A Cross Country Invitational at the Wood Country Fairgrounds.
      The Ripley Vikings of coaches Jimmy and Hillary Groves finished fifth in the Class AAA boys division with 143 points. Parkersburg High took the team title with 53 and was followed by Winfield (65), Hampshire (120) and Caldwell, Ohio (138). There were a total of 13 teams in the AAA field.
    Senior Jake Casto paced Ripley with a 10th place finish in a time of 17:22. Remy Boyce (17:40) was 17th, Levi Phillips (17:47) placed 23rd, Dalton Fisher (19:06) was 56th, Skye Stover (19:08) was 57th, Nate Miller (19:25) came in 64th and Braxton Morrison (19:54) was 78th.
    In the Class AAA girls meet, Ripley was 11th out of 12 teams. The Lady Vikings scored 284. Winfield took home the title in AAA girls with 56. Hampshire was the runner-up with 90.
    Molli Cunningham (23:05) was Ripley’s top finisher at 47th. Haley Ford (23:42) was 57th, Sapphire Parsons (23:58) was 64th, Laurel Miller (25:22) came in 84th, Bryana Sterns (25:47) placed 87th, Any Ferrell (26:01) finished 92nd and Izzy Donohew(27:21) finished 103rd.
