Ralph Easter, 93, of Sandyville, went home to be with the Lord Sunday evening, August 25, 2013 at Eldercare of Ripley following an extended illness. He is now at peace.

            He was born February 3, 1920, at the family farm near Ripley, now known as Cedar Lakes, son of the late James and Jessie Bosworth Easter. Ralph was a veteran of WW-II and served in Europe after the end of hostilities. He formerly worked for the State Road and was a lifelong concrete worker in the construction business. Ralph was a member of the Salt Hill Church.

            Surviving: His wife of 68 years, Marie Winter Easter; Sons, Ralph C. Easter (Danita) of Ripley and Billy Easter (Sharon) of Ripley; Daughters, Barbara Jo Hyre (David) of Given and Janet Lee Lemley of Sandyville; Eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

            In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by brothers James “Doc”, Feeman, Charles “Bus”, Joseph, Robert, Joe and Lester Easter and sisters Edith Easter and Francis Greathouse.

            A celebration of the life of Ralph Easter will be Wednesday, August 28 at 2 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home with Pastor Creel Kerns officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery with military rites by the Ripley American Legion Post 107..
