RIPLEY - While the dog days of summer have arrived and brought some heavy rain of late, the Ripley Viking football squad will remain mud free on the turf of Death Valley (Memorial Stadium).

First year head coach David Tennant will see exactly what he has to work with as the Vikings strap up in full gear for full contact drills this morning (Tuesday).

The Vikings will break away from two-a-days and practice from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. this week as they prepare to fine-tune their engines for their (home) opener with Parkersburg South on August 30.

This week, the Vikings will travel to Roane County for a full contact scrimmage on Saturday at 10 a.m. Ripley finished (5-5) in 2012 and seeks its first playoff berth since 2009.
