Geneva June "Jean" McDaniel, 73, of Rt. 6 Keyser, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her residence.
Born on July 16, 1940 in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late Wiley Woodrow and Geneva (Kerlin) Garman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis McDaniel on July 2, 1985 and a sister, JoEllen Dinehart.
Mrs. McDaniel was retired from the United States Postal Service. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Aden, Virginia and attended the Burlington Union Church.
Surviving are five children, Thomas Everett McDaniel and wife Karin of Morganton, North Carolina, Mary Catherine of Keyser, Barbara Helen Dunn of Basye, Virginia, Linda Carole Weimer and husband James of Jacksonville, Arkansas and William Lewis McDaniel, Jr. of Keyser; two brothers, Roger Garman and wife Kathy of Virginia and Tim Garman and wife Helen of Lexington, Kentucky; six sisters, Betty Pittman and husband Douglas and Yvonne Carole Woodyard of Manassas, Virginia, Becky Crouch and husband William of Triangle, Virginia, Rachel Spinks and husband Vee of Sacramento, CA, Grace Naomi Zeigler and husband David of Fairhope, Alabama and Ann Marie McCreedie and husband Alan of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At Mrs. McDaniel's request, there will be no visitation or services.
The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
