FORT ASHBY- The Mineral County Fair always brings local artist out to display their talent, and this year was no different. With people bring flowers, art, canned goods and much more to display at this years fair exhibit.
They were several categories for local gardeners, artist, photographers, and crafters to enter. The exhibits were for flowers, vegetables, fruit, canned goods, breads, sewing, crochet, quilts, knitting, and arts. The arts included crafts made from just about anything, and pictures that were either taken, drawn, painted, charcoaled, or just sketched.
Anything that you can produce or grow, there was pretty much a category for it.
Kim Monroe was at the fair entering pictures her daughter had done in charcoal for the creative arts category. Her daughter Mariah had done a picture of her grandmother and one that is a tribute to those who had served. Kim said her daughter was unable to be there to enter herself and her mother came in her place so she could display her work at the fair.
You could find just about anything at the exhibits. It just goes to show how much talent is in the community and the fair is a great place to get to see it.
Dee Rennix had come out to enter some of her flowers in the flower show. She had several flowers to enter that she had grown in her garden.
Many people were in line to sign up their exhibits, and enter this years fair judging. The exhibits always bring a large crowd out to sign up and an even bigger crowd out to see the works of local people.
As people look around at al the exhibits and what they have to offer, it gives you a first hand look at all the talent in our area that is sometimes otherwise hidden.
Everyone is urged to come out and support local entries at the Mineral County Fair Exhibit building.
