FAIRPLAIN - The Jackson County Sheriffs Department is seeking public help in solving a current truck arson case.
Sheriff Tony Boggs reported that a Toyota pickup belonging to a DHHR worker was set on fire Monday at around noon in the office parking lot at Fairplain. Boggs said an "incendiary device" was used to set the fire which burned out the truck.
A green minivan seen in the parking lot around the time of the blaze is believed to be the suspect vehicle, Boggs said.
Sgt. Eric Cullen is heading up the investigation, Deputy State Fire Marshall Jason Baltic is also investigating.
Boggs said anyone with information that might help in solving the crime is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 304-373-2290 or the anonymous crime tipline at 304-373-2209.
