  • EVANS - Evans Elementary School has put a $5,000.00 grant received from Our Community's Foundation to good use by purchasing 10 iPads with covers, music instruments, art supplies and funding five field trips to ElderCare to share music, art and technology with the residents.
The school staff and students want to publicly thank Our Community's Foundation for the $5,000 grant.
They want to thank Rita Douglas of the Jackson County Children's Choir who volunteered her time and talents to conduct the students' performances at ElderCare in January and February. Her choir meets regularly on Tuesdays with students in Jackson County in grades 3-8. She instructs students in singing and prepares them for community performances.
The school wants to thank Charessa Wilkinson who volunteered her time and talents to instruct the students and residents in drawing portraits and landscapes in April and May. Charessa is an artist and a "go-getter" real estate agent for Real Estate Central with the Allison Group.
The staff and students also want to thank the business, Traditional Floors, for their monetary donation as well.
