RIPLEY - Our Community's Foundation - The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and its Regional Affiliate Foundations - and the Jackson County Community Foundation announced grant awards for spring 2013. The Foundation awarded a total of $169,014 through the Spring Community Action Grants program to organizations within the Foundation's eleven-county service region of Wood, Wirt, Ritchie, Doddridge, Mason, Calhoun, Gilmer, Roane, Pleasants, and Jackson Counties in West Virginia, and Washington County, Ohio.

• Allohak Council, Boy Scouts of America - $1,000 to build latrines at Camp Katooga.

• CASA of the Fifth Judicial Circuit - $2,000 for operating support.
• Community Resources - $2,000 for stabilization services to support families in the agency's Family Development program.
On Monday, June 10, representatives of organizations receiving grants from PACF and JCCF and other supporters of the Foundation attended a Spring Grant Award Program at the Foundation's central office location at 1620 Park Avenue, Parkersburg.

Grant recipients were given an opportunity to discuss their grant-funded projects with the attendees. Grants awarded through the PACF Community Action Grant program are provided through various unrestricted, field of interest and donor advised funds at the Foundation.
Our Community's Foundation began in 1963, and manages more than 400 charitable funds, supporting a wide variety of charitable causes in our region.
