RIPLEY – Jackson County Superintendent of Schools Blaine Hess has received a favorable evaluation from members of the Jackson County Board of Education.

Hess is completing his seventh year as superintendent.

The board completed its evaluation of Hess at its June 6, 2013 meeting. Following an evaluation conference with Hess, BOE president Steve Wedge released the following statement, "The Board has concluded that Superintendent Hess has met or exceeded all standards set forth for him by the Jackson County Board of Education."

Prior to his employment as superintendent in 2006, Hess served as Director of Secondary Education for Jackson County Schools. In addition to his responsibilities as superintendent, Hess is a member of the WV Association of School Administrators Executive Committee in his capacity as past president of the organization.

Hess is also the 2013 WV Superintendent of the Year.
