  • Four Devilettes garner All-State softball honors

  • RAVENSWOOD – Four members of Coach Cindy Carmichael's Ravenswood Red Devilette softball team (9-13) have been selected for Class AA All-State honors for 2013.
    Juniors Katie Buckbee and Sidnee Morgan were named to the Class AA All-State Second Team.
    Buckbee was named as one of three Second Team Utility players.
    The junior shortstop boasted a .829 fielding percentage and hit at a .575 clip with a .950 slugging percentage and a .653 on-base percentage. Buckbee had 23 hits in 40 at-bats with a pair of homers, a pair of triples and five doubles. She knocked in 14 runs while scoring 19 runs herself and struck out just once.
    Morgan was named as one of two Second Team catchers. Morgan hit at a .507 clip with a .821 slugging percentage and a .577 on-base percentage.
    For the season, Sidnee hit one home runs, three triples and 12 doubles among her 34 hits in 67 at-bats. She drove in 22 runs and scored 33 herself. She had a team-high .973 fielding percentage.
    Sophomore Savana Casto was named to the Class AA All-State Special Honorable Mention list.
    Casto had a 7-11 pitching record for the season with 121 strikeouts, 67 walks and 144 hits allowed in 95 innings of work. Her WHIP was .2.22 and her ERA was 8.47.Her fielding percentage was .909. At the plate, Savana hit a team-high five home runs along with three triples and six doubles among 33 hits in 68 at-bats. She hit at a .485 clip with a .882 slugging percentage and a .562 on-base percentage. Casto drove in 27 runs and scored 32 herself.
    The Devilettes' lone senior, Holly Chiles was named to the Class AA All-State Honorable Mention list.
    Chiles had a 1-2 pitching record with 14 strikeouts, 14 walks and 14 hits allowed with a 6.68 ERA and a2.18 WHIP.
    Chiles had a .935 fielding percentage. At the plate, Holly hit at a .413 clip with a .603 slugging percentage and a .493 on-base percentage.
    She collected 26 hits in 63 at-bats with one home run and nine doubles. She drove in 30 runs and scored 12 herself.
