RIPLEY - Former Ripley High 3-time State Wrestling champion and 2-time collegiate All American (West Liberty) Mitch Smith will host the first annual Alderson Broaddus College Commuter Wrestling Camp from June 17-21 in the Ripley High auxiliary gym.

Smith, who was named the head coach at AB in 2012 will send his first squad to the mats for the 2013-'14 season for the Philippi West Virginia based Division II program.

Smith's brother Matt, a former 1-time State Champion is the head wrestling coach at Ripley High School.

Members of the Alderson Broaddus wrestling team will be on hand to assist with the camp and this will include Ripley's own Daryl Hicks who left Huntington with his own championship earlier this spring at (285) and Greg Medina who was a 2-time state place winner at (184) for the Vikings.

Other AB wrestlers lending a hand will include Cody Spinks (Musselman High 2-time state champ and 4-time state place winner at 149/157), Tyler Cross (Washington High 3-time state place winner), Jason West (Parkersburg High 1-time state place winner at 125), Taylor Ortiz (Morgantown High 1-time runner up 2-time state place winner as a heavyweight), Garrett Onderko (East Fairmont High state champ and 3-time place winner at 184/197, Micah Powell (Point Pleasant High 1-time runner up and 2-time state place winner) and Davis Slovak (Greenbrier East High 1-time state place winner.
