  • Devilettes made strides in 2013, returns all but one for 2014

  • EASTWOOD – Coach Cindy Carmichael's Ravenswood Red Devilettes made strides in the right direction on the softball diamond in 2013 and will return their entire team with the exception of senior first baseman/pitcher Holly Chiles for 2014. That coupled with an expected influx of freshman talent should bode well.
    The Devilettes finished the 2013 season with a 9-13 record.
    Sophomore Savana Casto led the Devilettes on the mound with a 7-11 record, striking out 121 batters, while walking 67 and allowing 144 hits over 95 innings. Casto has a 8.47 ERA and a 2.22 WHIP. Holly Chiles (6.68 ERA/2.18 WHIP) was 1-2 with 14 strikeouts, 14 walks and 18 hits allowed. Dezirae Lester was 1-0 with one strikeout, four walks and four hits allowed.
    Junior Katie Buckbee led the team with a .575 batting average (.950 slugging percentage and .653 on-base percentage). Buckbee hit two homers, two triples and five doubles.
    Junior Sidnee Morgan hit at a .507 clip with a .821 slugging percentage and a .577 on-base percentage. Morgan led the team in doubles with 12 (tied with sophomore Ciara Trouille) and soack three triples and a homer.
    Savana Casto led the team in home runs with five, while swatting three triples and six doubles. She hit at a .485 clip with a .882 slugging percentage and a .562 on-base percentage.
    Holly Chiles hit at a .413 clip with a .603 slugging percentage and a .493 on-base percentage. Chiles hit one homer and nine doubles.
    Sophomore Ciara Trouille possessed the best arm in the outfield and hit at a .391 clip with a .609 slugging percentage and a .440 on-base percentage. Trouille socked one homer and 12 doubles.
    Lexi Price hit at a .311 clip; Jordan Strickland at .255; Mackenzie Stutler at .243; Heather Randolph at .188; Dezirae Lester at .163; and Diana Lester at .143.
    Chiles topped the team in RBIs with 30. Casto had 27; Morgan 22; Trouille 20; Buckbee 14; and Randolph 10. Sidnee Morgan was the top run scorer with 33. Casto scored 32; Price 21; Buckbee 19; Strickland 18; Trouille 17; Randolph 10; Dezirae Lester 9; and Stutler 5. Casto drew 12 walks; Buckbee and Chiles nine each; and Morgan eight.
    Morgan was the top fielder with a .973 percentage. Chiles (.935) and Randolph (.926) were close behind. Casto (.909), Trouille (.890) and Buckbee (.829) closed out the leaders.
