ELLENBORO – Ravenswood's Red Devils saw their baseball season come to a screeching halt last weeK with a pair of sectional tournament losses to Ritchie County on the Rebels' home field.

The Devils lost 10-3 on Wednesday, when the Rebels scored seven runs over the final two innings.

D.J. Burgess got the pitching win for Ritchie, fanning two and walking one over six innings. Austin Weekley tossed one inning, walking two. The Rebel tandem allowed just four Ravenswood hits.

Heath Burgess took the loss for the Devils, fanning two, walking two and scattering eight hits.

Devon Crews led the Devils at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance including a pair of doubles and an RBI. Trey Hatcher added a single; Logan Jarrett, an RBI; and Nic Ballard scored two runs.

Tyler Reed paced the Rebels with a pair of hits. Trevor Shepler added a double; and D.J. Burgess, three RBIs.

On Thursday, the Rebels eliminated Ravenswood in the sectional championship game, 12-8.

The Devils capped a 19-16 campaign.
