CHARLESTON – Jason Ward was longing for something big from his Ripley Viking track and field team on Friday evening at UC Stadium in the annual Mountain State Athletic Conference Championship Meet.

He got it from Ryan Gregory.

The versatile Gregory won the long jump with a leap of 20-05.50.

Gregory's MSAC title was the top performance of the evening for the Vikings who finished eighth overall in the team standings with 33 points.

Gregory also had a third place finish in the 300 hurdles with a time of 41.33. Ripley's 4x800 captured third with a time of 8:28.60. The relay consisted of Chad Longanacre, Levi Phillips, Jake Casto and Antonio Jones.

Besides this first and third, Gregoy placed fourth in the 110 hurdles (17.23) and helped the shuttle hurdle relay squad (1:02.06) to a fourth teaming up with Tyler Jones, Longanacre and Sammy Shaver.

Caleb Casto was fifth in the 3200 (10:18.83) while the the 4x100 unit (46.83) of Colton Holmes, Paul Lively, Quaseem Fields and David Baker placed sixth.

In the girls division, Ripley's Lady Vikings scored nine points. The 4x200 team (1:52.06) had the best showing of the evening by placing second. Holly Farkosh, Molli Cunningham, Audra Thomas and Caylee Painter made up the foursome.
Cunningham in the 300 hurdles (50.50), the 4x100 team (55.11) of Amanda Longanacre, Caressa Robinson, Thomas and Painter along with the shuttle squad (1:09.94) of Farkosh, Madison Sanders, Erica Gibson and Cunningham placed sixth.
Ripley competes in the Class AAA Region 3 Meet tomorrow (Wednesday) in Charleston.
