RIPLEY – The Jackson County Board of Education voted unanimously to hire 31-year old David Tennant as its football coach effective immediately.
"We are very lucky to have a quality individual like Coach Tennant to lead Ripley High School Football for the 2013 season. I am proud to have recommended him," said Ripley Principal Will Hosaflook.
"He is enthusiastic and community oriented," he added.
Tennant compiled a (9-11) overall record in two seasons at Eastern High in Reedsville Ohio in 2011 and 2012.
"I am excited to get started," said Tennant.
"I am honored to be named Ripley's football coach. There is a lot of talent in these halls and I look forward to addressing the team on Monday. We will work fast and furious."
Tennant was a 1999 graduate of Wahama High and played football at Division 1 Ohio University.
