  • Devils beat Bison, nip Indians

  • BUFFALO - Ravenswood's Red Devils, now 10-10, continued their win streak (six games) with two more wins last week, beating Buffalo (7-3) on the road Thursday and nipping Sissonville, 3-2, with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday at Wright Field.
    At Buffalo, the Red Devils led 3-0 after three innings before the Bison tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
    Ravenswood then scored a pair of runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth inning to win the game.
    Heath Burgess went the distance to win on the mound for the Devils, fanning three, walking five and scattering four hits.
    Levi Jordan absorbed the pitching loss for the Bison, tossing three innings with four strikeouts, one walk and four hits allowed. Joseph Good pitched four innings, fanning one, walking none and allowing seven hits.
    Devon Crews led the Ravenswood hit parade with three hits in four trips. Trey Hatcher was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs; and Thomas Sturm was 3-for-3.
    For Buffalo, Bradley Harris and Jordan had a double each.
    At Wright Field Wednesday, the Devils spotted the visiting Sissonville Indians a 2-0 lead, before scoring a run in the bottom of the fifth and the game-winning pair in the bottom of the seventh in a 3-2 win.
    Isaac Crow went the distance on the mound to notch the win, fanning five, walking two and scattering just three hits.
    Austin Burford absorbed the loss in relief, fanning one, walking one and surrendering two hits. Zach Null was the starter, going six innings with seven strikeouts, four walks and three hits allowed.
    At the plate, Thomas Sturm led the Devils with a 2-for-3 game including an RBI. Logan Jarrett was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
