Charles Lee Farmer, 86, of Ravenswood, WV, departed this life for glory on April 20, 2013.
He was born on January 5, 1927, in Nolan, WV, to Conley Moses and May Blevins Farmer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, having served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was retired as a Slitter Operator from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood.
Charles is survived by his sons, Roger L. (Barbara) Farmer of Simpsonville, SC, James E. (Marilyn) Farmer of Sheffield Lake, OH, and Charles N. (Denise) Farmer of Marietta, OH; seven grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Trosky of Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Christina Bess; brother, Robert; and sisters, Irene Kinny and Margaret Ann Lim.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Don Maxson officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with Ravenswood VFW Post 6669 providing graveside military rites.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, April 25, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, time of service.
