  • Alma E. Lacy, 87, of Cottageville, WV, passed away peacefully April 18, 2013, in Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston.

    She was born July 6, 1925, in Glen Daniel, WV, a daughter of the late Clyde and Hettie Cortney (Grimmett) Shorter. Her husband, Richard Earl Lacy; son, Richard MacArthur Lacy; daughter, Barbara Jones; sister, Ruby Shorter Toliver, and a brother, Carl Shorter, also preceded her in death.
    She was a homemaker and a member of the Cottageville United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David Earl and Gloria Lacy of Cottageville; daughter and her husband, Peggy and Ray Sias of Winfield; sister, Mary Utt of Cleveland, OH; brother, Carlos (Eleanor) Shorter of Alliance, OH; grandchildren, Cindy Sias (Bruce) Barnes of Institute, Stephanie Lacy (Justin) Thaxton of Alum Creek, Brian Lacy of Cottageville, and David Jones of Forest City, NC; great grandchildren, Eric, Sydney and Suzanne Jones, and Kennedy and Lily Thaxton.
    Services were held Monday, April 22, 2013, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV,
    Pastor Tom Osgood, and the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiated.
    Burial followed at Jackson County Memory Gardens, in Cottageville, WV.
    Visitation was Sunday April 21, at the funeral home.
