  • RIPLEY – The wins just keep coming for the Ripley High girls tennis team.
Greg Varney's Lady Vikings picked up three more recently. And, in fact, did so in convincing 7-0 fashion.
In wins over Beckley, Riverside and Princeton, which moved Ripley to 8-0 on the year, the Lady Vikings got court victories in singles play from No. 1 seed Emily Munson, Kaitlyn White at No. 2, Brooke King at No. 3 and No. 4 Arin Shatto. Munson and Whyte claimed three matches in No. 1 doubles competition, Tyler Barickman and Shatto captured the No. 2 showdowns and Megan Frampton and King teamed up for three wins at No. 3.
In boys play, the Vikings knocked off Riverside, 5-2, but were handed losses by that same count against Beckley and Princeton. The Vikings are now 5-3.
In the match with Riverside, No. 1 singles player Logan Reynolds was a winner along with No. 3 seed Jacob Haynes and No. 4 seed Jordan Ullom. In doubles, the No. 2 team of Parker Lively and Haynes won as did the No. 3 duo of J.J. Mahan and Baylee VanKirk.
Both wins against Beckley were in doubles play with Reynolds and Casey Smith teaming up to take the No. 1 match while Mahan and VanKirk were victorious at No. 3.
In the Princeton match, Jacob Haynes won at No. 2 singles.
Mahan and VanKirk have enjoyed yet another successful showing in No. 3 doubles.
